Boulder, colo. After attending the Winter Fancy Food Show in January, Paulina Peñaloza extended her u.s.. stay and made some in-store appearances at two specialty retailers.
Paulina and her husband, Roberto Manieu,are the masterminds behind the Chilean Gourmet brand, and Penaloza did the in-store demonstrations at Oliv You & Me here.
Patti Scott, who co-owns the olive oil, gourmet food café with her sister Jody Spence, was one of the first retailers who took interest in the Chilean Gourmet Products which are indigenous, all-natural products from the South American country. Penaloza introduced the Chilean Gourmet products to the U.S. market at the show in San Diego. Products include: Merken spice a blend of dried and smoked red cacho de cabra, or goats horn chilies with toasted coriander seed and salt..
Penaloza works with Catholic University of the Araucania and 70 families of the Mapuche native people in the Araucanía, to grow the cacho de cabra peppers..
Ulmo Tree Honey is from a tree native to Chile, with camellialike flowers, which appear in late summer and fall.
One hundred percent pure Poliflower Honey is produced by beehives within native forest trees in the Araucania Region.
